Construction Safety Practitioners Association Chairman's Award: Asgard Co., Ltd. CEO 'Kim Woong-bae'

The integrated smart helmet with smart functions was evaluated as an innovative personal protective equipment that enhances safety management at work sites.

On the 18th, at the “K-ConSafety Awards,” the highlight of the “2024 Korea Construction Safety Expo,” the only specialized construction safety exhibition in Korea, held at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, a total of 8 companies were honored with awards in the construction safety innovation technology and ESG/mutual growth categories.

The awards ceremony was attended by Lee Kwang-hee, Chairman of the Construction Safety Executives Council (CSOC), Ryu Jae-won, Vice President of KINTEX, Lee Sang-jun, Chairman of the Specialized Construction Safety and Health Council, Jo Jeong-woo, Vice President of the General Construction Industry Co., Ltd., and Lee Seok-jae, Senior Vice President of the Construction Safety Council, who graced the occasion. The award-winning companies were strictly selected through a first-round document screening and a second-round panel screening by expert judges from the industry and media, and their innovative technologies were exhibited at the Construction New Technology PR Zone in the expo hall.

The Construction Safety Innovation Technology category is an award that recognizes technological innovations that dramatically improve safety at construction sites, and focused on evaluating cases where various innovative technologies contributed to preventing safety accidents and improving the work environment.

The corresponding category consisted of the KINTEX President Award, the Professional Construction Safety and Health Council Chairman Award, the General Construction Industry Kosha Chairman Award, the Construction Safety Practitioners Council Chairman Award, the Construction Safety Council Chairman Award, and the Construction Safety Executive Council Chairman Award (a total of 6 companies were awarded), and the ESG and Shared Growth category consisted of the KINTEX President Award and the Construction Safety Executive Council Chairman Award (a total of 2 companies were awarded).

● KINTEX President Award: Jjakdari Co., Ltd. CEO 'Cho Young-sam'

● Professional Construction Safety and Health Council Chairman Award: Korea Light Rail CEO 'Yoon Ho-seop'

This company garnered attention for developing an innovative safety device that prevents workers from falling at high-altitude work sites and increases material transport efficiency.

● Comprehensive Construction Industry Chairman's Award: CEO Choi Jong-won of Uplift Co., Ltd.

'K-Ladder Smart Safety KIT' is a user-centered safety system technology that presents a smart solution that protects the safety of workers in real time.

● Construction Safety Practitioners' Association Chairman's Award: CEO Kim Woong-bae of Asgard Co., Ltd.

● Construction Safety Council Chairman's Award: Director Kim Tae-won of Shinwha Tech

The innovative technology that developed the existing wired heavy equipment entrapment alarm into a wireless product dramatically shortened the installation time.

● Construction Safety Executives' Association Chairman's Award: Director Kim Pyeong-sik of Geumgang Safety Industry Co., Ltd. The product

developed a safety solution that can prevent finger entrapment accidents with a product that uses 3D hard chips, and was recognized as a product that anyone can easily install.

ESG·Joint Growth Category

● KINTEX President’s Award: Hyundai Engineering & Construction ‘Kim Jeong-han’, Senior Manager

Hyundai Engineering & Construction collaborated with 20 startups selected through the Open Innovation Program and introduced their achievements at the expo, and continued cooperation and follow-up support with startups are expected after the expo.

● Construction Safety Executive Council Chairman Award: Gyeonggi-do Labor Safety Division ‘Won Jin-hee’, Labor Safety Division Manager

The ‘Gyeonggi-do Construction Safety Management System’ was established to check and manage the safety status of construction sites in Gyeonggi-do in real time, thereby dramatically improving the safety management capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The expo office responded, “This awards ceremony served as an opportunity to significantly improve the safety level of construction sites through technological innovation and ESG practice in the field of construction safety, and the selected companies contributed to the prevention of safety accidents through various innovative technologies and showed examples of ESG management for the sustainable growth of the construction industry.” The
