Asguard Co., Ltd. (CEO Woong-Bae Kim) announced on the 7th that the integrated smart safety helmet 'TUGU' has completed the first domestic safety and health protection equipment certification (KCs) and has been officially launched.
Asguard uses the brand name 'TUGU' inspired by the ancient Greek bronze helmet, and has incorporated smart functions into safety helmets, which are basic protective gear in industrial sites.
The newly launched smart safety helmet 'TUGU' is an innovative product that integrates detection of whether it is worn or not, heat-related illness warning, shock detection rescue signal transmission, dual radio communication, and black box video recording functions. In the event of a fall or other shock or an emergency at the work site, the safety helmet sounds an alarm and at the same time, a rescue signal is automatically transmitted to the user through the control system and dedicated software, helping to secure the golden time for workers.
The smart safety functions applied to the product include an infrared-based proximity sensor, temperature and humidity sensor, and shock sensor, and the communication functions include a DMR radio (digital doorbell) and a Bluetooth 5.2 module (app radio). In addition, 'TUGU' also comes with a black box function utilizing an LED automatic lantern via a light sensor, a wide-angle camera, and a 128GB storage device.

The product is an integrated structure that provides an integrated safety solution with a single device and dedicated software (ASWing) without additional equipment and module installation, and is currently being introduced and tested at numerous industrial sites, including Samsung C&T, LG Energy Solution, Hyundai Rotem, Incheon Airport, and Busan Port Authority. The product has completed KC certification and KCs (Class AB safety helmet) certification.
Asguard CEO Kim Woong-bae said, “We expect the ‘TUGU’ smart helmet supplied by Asgard to become the standard for industrial safety in Korea by expanding the limits of safety and proposing a solution optimized for safety,” and “We expect it to play a role as a smart protective gear and smart safety equipment in response to the Serious Disaster Punishment Act and the Industrial Safety and Health Act.”
Meanwhile, Asguard said that most of the initial production was sold out due to pre-orders immediately after the product launch, and that it has high expectations for market expansion through the product in the future. It plans to develop additional models suited to various industrial environments in the future.
